Cochrane is a town in Alberta, Canada and is located West of Calgary. It is the second largest town in Alberta and is also one of the fastest growing communities in Canada. The town was established in 1881 and was named after a local rancher, Matthew Henry Cochrane. It incorporated as a town in 1971. Cochrane hosts a variety of annual events including but not limited to:
